sorry guys...there is a lot of not-so-classic-jazz-here.
in my humble opinion classic means recorded before Charlie Parker.

Perhaps I'm wrong...

all my best

That's one of the problems with genre separations at times... it's all up to interpretation (or, there's no other area that's reasonably close).

IMO,

We are an open music community. Of course we can't fill all needs at all times.
You are welcome to contribute, or cheer, or not.

I don't think the time of a recording is a good differentiation for classic jazz. Bill Elliott p.e. plays definitely in a very classic style and is active nowadays. It is impossible to have perfect definitions of genres that would always lead to the "right drawer" for a musician or a recording. Not to forget, musicians often tend to switch genres, at least if their career last longer than two albums. And if a post is really completely wrong in this category, feel free to send a message to a moderator. If you can convince him or her, the thread will be moved to a better suited part of the forum. No big deal, in my opinion.
