http://eldiablotuntun.blogspot.com

Literally hundreds of albums, all music from the 20's to the 50's, some swing, loads of roots blues, bluegrass, country and also stuff like cajun, tex-mex, cuban jazz, hawai music. All links, even in archives up to a year ago, still working. Lot's of different hosts: megaupload, badongo, zshare, gigasize. Updated very often. In one word: a goldmine!

If you like your music very, very old and not too hi-fi you can go browsing through these collections & download the mp3's (or even the wav files if you prefer). All kinds of early 20th century music.

http://redondodesign.blogspot.com/

This blog will be used to showcase designs I've created. I'll give basic info as to how I created the piece, what software I used and anything else that I'm feelin'. Please feel free to leave comments. As a designer I'm open to being critiqued. But please - be respectful. Everyone interprets design differently, so I value opinions and thoughts. Or just a simple "COOL DESIGN!!" is always nice.

Also, I'm always looking for a gig. Are you in a band? Got a demo? A self produced album? Need a design? Posters? Fliers? Promotional pieces? Take a look at some of the things I've done to get an idea of my work and what I can do for you.

Thanks & Best Regards,
mredondo

Strictly speaking not a blog, but http://rockhall.ro/ has some interesting contents, and is somewhat similar (& related) to this forum, isn't it?
In fact, a couple of times people have been posting URIs from rockhall.ro here (which however just caused them to be deleted... maybe post links to rockhall.ro instead next time?)

Nice blog with lots & lots of blues & blues & blues (electric blues, blues rock , old time stuff), also some jazz & other stuff. No info or tracklists, just covers & links. Not all working. Lots on badongo and megaupload.

whatsinmyipod
Various things, some nice jazz albums there, soma rarities, some rock'n roll, some roots. Tastefull stuff on the whole. The blog has died, but the links are being kept alive. Lots on mediafire and megaupload.

And now all together for bloggers that don't solely use rapidshare:

Hip Hip Hip

Hurrah!!

Damn straight! You fart in a bag, zip it nicely, upload it to anything but rapidshare and I'll download it, write a thank you note and depending on what you had for lunch I just might give you some positive karma!

Lots of blues (would you have guessed from the name?) seems to have a loot of the old-time blues stuff from document records (of which series eldiablotuntun often post albums).
Rapidshare though :(

"Ska, Rocksteady, Skinhead Reggae, Calypso, Dub, Soul and some Roots Reggae"

Unbelievably good for all kinds of reggae on vinyl and CD - Trojan box sets etc., vocal groups, all producers and studios represented, post their own compilations, etc - in Portugese(?), from Brazil (I think).

Good news http://metrobase.blogspot.com didn't end in august! So everybody rushing over there and grabbing as much as possible after the announcement that the blogger's account on rapidshare was expiring did get the trick done! Very various styles. Lot's of early jazz 78rpm collections that are now still available on rapidshare. Go give the blogger some rapidshare points!

Stray Cats Rarities
http://straycatsrarities.blogspot.com/

That's my blog and as the name says it's all about The Stray Cats (and when I run out of Stray Cats material I'll go into their solo career) and "rarities".
I mean I wont post regular/official albums but bootlegs and maybe some b-sides too.
It wasn't updated for some months but now I'm back !!
Hope to hear from you...

http://rockerries.web-log.nl/mijn_weblog/

Dutch blog with sixties stuff, rock'n'roll and country. Some interesting looking rock'n'roll-jivin'girls-type things. Even some local Belgian and Dutch popular crooners (from the cheesier side of crappy, or maybe so far out that it's interesting again, don't know, i'll have to listen to Bobbejaan Schoepen first -a Belgian yodeling cowboy-singer who owned a children's theme park in the sixties) and some oddities like long forgotten local rock'n'roll bands. For the more patient collectors amongst you, since most seems to be hosted on megaupload.

Sadly, Green Eyed Lady is no more.

Sorry about that, guys.

And what's up with metrobase? Invitation only? Does anyone know how?

Here's a nice forum with lots of jazz: jazzymusic more classic and contemporary jazz than swing. Not nearly as sociable as this one though. And it's in spanish. Fortunados I speakos mucho goodos españolos.

And here, since I've not much time to post stuff I'll point you to a great download-link outlet store: no cover art, no tracklist, no guarantees, no thanking or asking for reupping, just clicking till you get something worthy, no telling if it's gonna be 192kbps mp3 or 64kbps wma (no kidding, although the size was a giveaway), no jazz section, not even much jazz at all (quicktest miles davis gives about forty links, duke ellington only three, rolling stones hundreds,...), but if you're looking for the latest of snoop daffy duck or whatever's popular you'll find at least twenty links to it of which a few will be working. It says Total Albums: 370226 | Albums this Month: 23098 | Albums Today: 0 so there must be some of those you'll like, heres: albumbase.
Enjoy.

pwurp... yes... albumbase... more dead links than your local cemetery... but who knows what you might "exhume"!! - have turned up the odd "glamorous corpse" there !
And "jazzymusic" - mighty good forum (in fact, spectacular) - full of latin treasures, plus wonderful jazz, plus more, more, more!!.

pwurp, don't know if you are registered at Jazzy (I am)-but following the situation at Jazzy (using 'Google Translate' (Espanol to English)) over recent weeks, there must have been some power struggle, consequently links were deleted/banned/banished... didn't really quite understand what was happening... a major re-structure occurred, and a lot of faithful posters got pissed-off. So pissed-off in fact that two new spin-off forums were created - they emailed the Jazzy members with this:

"Seeing that the current situation of instability of this forum is not improving and the disinterest of its owner to improve things, we moved to two forums:

http://jazzbabel.com

Dedicated to jazz, classical music and other genres

http://zonalatina.org

Dedicated to latin rhythms and music from latin-american.

We hope you visit us. You can login with the same user data used in this forum.

THANKS IN ADVANCE !

Regards,

The .: jazzbabel.com :. Team.

http://jazzbabel.com/index.php"

Vinvance says... Check it out!! Use your Jazzy login to access 'jazzbabel' and 'zonalatina'... (seems "jazzymusic" is operational at the moment, too).

Great music resources above for you AnySwingers - ('JouJoux' and 'Bernardo Vieira'... jump on board these forums if you aren't all ready registered).
