No! I think that most of us lower case fanaticals are just what remained from the DOS era, when you simply HAD to fill username nd poasswrods that way.
So, here is the rule:

Under 20 y/o = UpperLower
Above 20 = wearestuckin90's

Or maybe it's more of a
- CanTypeWithMultipleFingers
- cannottype
kind of rule? :-) SCNR

Even today it's like you know a lowercase username like mine will work everywhere, whereas an uppercase doesn't. So instead of using different usernames, I can stick to this one just about everywhere.

I don't care about lowercase in user names, but proper capitalization in texts (and the use of punctuation and paragraphs) does increase readability. Especially in languages that actually make use of this feature. :-)

Now what about capitalization in song titles? It is very common to capitalize every word except "of", "is", "the" and "from" or so... which is like a very odd rule, isn't it?

"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Actually I wasn't being serious... Even the low cases in the post body were just 4 the show...
Oh well...

I'm hugely enthusiastic about readability and good use of language, myself...
Though I'm very willing to commit some english atrocities...
