Male Vocals Swing Artists

Postby smc4312 » Thu May 05, 2011 6:42 pm

Hi,

I never introduced myself so here goes..

My name is Ken. There done..

I wanted to ask if anyone could recommend some tracks for me.
Im taking lessons in vocals and am searching for some more swing, big band, neo-swing type songs to do.

Ill list some songs ive already done to give an idea what im after.

Frank Sinatra - I Get A Kick Out Of You (fast version)
Frank Sinatra - Lady Is A Tramp
Frank Sinatra - Almost Like Being In Love
Dean Martin - Aint That A Kick In The Head
Frank Sinatra - Blue Moon
Cherry Poppin Daddies - varies tracks. about 3 so far.
Michael Buble - Come fly with me, fever, and some others.

Basically i like anything thats upbeat, swings and has a good strong voice. Nothing nasally. My vocal style is somewhere between Frank sinatra and dean martin.

Can anyone recommend any standards, or artists that i could be practicing to, to improve my list of songs.

P.S I didnt intend this post as a discussion on what styles of musical are classified under swing or neo-swing. Really just looking for some advice.

Thanks in advance,
Ken. :D
