How many folks do we have from Southern California? ... and how many folks from other places would be willing to come here for a party of sorts?

I think we should have some kind of swing/jump blues music appreciation festival.

Granted, since Luiz, "The Godfather," brought us all together it should be in Brazil ... but I can't afford to go to Brazil ... and it seems we have quite a few Californians.

I might be able to provide sleeping quarters for a few folks. I might also be able to get some of our local musicians to perform if we had enough people committed to coming.

I know Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan, Mitch Kashmar and Joe Wilson. I can't guarantee any of them will show, but with a bit of cash and persuasion ... who knows?

Oh. You've never heard of Joe Wilson. He was the front man for the R&B Bombers, a local band that got me into jump blues back in 1982. They did not make any recordings that I know of but I have some of Joe's more recent work. He is also the guy that taught Mitch Kashmar how to play jazz harp.

yeeeeeh, sleepoverparty at Steve's! I really like the idea and knowing Steve a little by now I think it's fun to spend time with him (and the others for that matter) but...the same reason that Steve can't make it to Brasil, I can't make it to the party...too far..to expensive...but with the help of a webcam I'll be there virtually!

I knew it was just a cheap pickup line! organizing a party, arranging musicians, sending flyers...ok not a cheap pickup but if you wanted me to sleep over all you had to do was ask

but the real excuse is that a ticket cost me about three month of food, shelter, healthcare, internet...and i sure gonna miss the internet these months...
