It makes me very sad to note that the great Max Roach, one of the most creative drummers in jazz history, a great man and a gentleman, died this morning at the age of 83.

You're a friend of Peter Keepnews? You don't have to tell me who he is he wrote some great stuff indeed. As a Monk fan I'm very familiar with his work. When you see him, tell him there are even people in the Netherlands, Europe who enjoy his writings.
