Retro Websites

Postby Steve » Tue Jun 26, 2007 4:56 pm

I love the art, architecture, furniture, cars, clothes, advertising (and of course, music) of times gone by.

Here are a few of my favorite retro type websites. I'm sorry they are not organized better or have descriptions ... there are just too many and in too many different categories.

Just click away and see what you find.

I also have piles (not really, they're computer files) of old ads, b/w photos, fruit crate labels ... if you're looking for something in particular (and I don't know why you would be), just ask. Maybe I can dig something up for you.

I know. The 'net is just so damn big ... it's all out there somewhere.

Yes, I got the "answering machine." That's some funny stuff, and I'd swear I've heard it before but a long time ago ... maybe on the radio.

Do you mean the "mixed jump blues" collection?

Man. I dig retro stuff (but this is almost to much too handle). Sometime, when I'm not so tired, I'll have a good time checking out these sites. Having been fortunate enough to be born in late '53, these sites are a paradise to me.
Thanks so much for the time and energy in posting them!

Hey DB,

Not to worry, none of that stuff is going anywhere ... you're just lucky I didn't really dig into the files. I have NO idea how much more I have that isn't sorted or titled so I could find it.

I also have a ton of classic car, truck and RV stuff. Maybe some other time if someone wants to see it.

I hope you'll like what's here so far.

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Art Deco

Postby raycast » Fri Mar 28, 2008 11:03 am

http://artdecoblog.blogspot.com/

Name says it all: Art Deco Blog. Clothing, Flappers, Art, ...

Does anyone know some web sites that have a cool Art Deco or Retro look to them? I'm particularly interested in any site that mimicks a 20s or 30s look, I'm just not as much into the Rock'n'Roll age as into the Swing area.

First, as a newb to this board, I'd like to offer a big thank you to the folks who run it and post. Theres an amazing wealth of stuff on here, and the efforts are appriciated.

and, not to toot my own horn, but i've got a couple of sites up that have a variety of vintage stuff. The first site has pictures and video from the 1840's to the 1950's and music from the 1910's to the 1930's. The second site is more of the same (minus the music) but centered on the Tampa Bay Area. The sites are still growing, but there's some nice stuff on there.

check it out and have fun:

Thank you. This site is very interesting, a good resource of old photographs.
I like that they are browseable by decade.
