Phantom Dancer

Tuesday 6 Jul 2010, 12 noon EST (+10 GMT)
Sunday 11 Jul 2010, 6:30am

107.3 2SER Sydney & http://www.2ser.com/stream

Now this Tuesday & Sunday’s (6 Jul & 11 Jul) Phantom Dancer show will be ‘Classics’ (the commercial TV word for repeats) as I must away from the studio for some paid work. So there’s no playlist this week, as I don’t have a playlist for this week’s ‘Classic Phantom Dancer’ from 2009

However, I can still update the Phantom Dancer Video of the Week for you. And this week’s Video of the Week is a classic. Lousey song. But what a brilliant performance by Rita Rio and her all woman orchestra

Turns out Rita Rio’s real name was Rita Novella and she also performed in films & TV, also under the name of Dona Drake, until 1955. Rita Rio and her ‘all-girl’ band toured the US in the early 40s raising money for polio research. Hearts of gold

Enjoy!

A new Phantom Dancer show on 107.3 2SER-FM next Tuesday & Sun

See Rita Rio at Greg Poppleton's Radio Lounge :http://gregpoppleton.wordpress.com/2010/07/05/rita-rio-all-woman-orchestra/
Greg Poppleton & his Bakelite Dance Band play 1920s & 30s hot jazz & swing for your club, festival, corporate event, wedding, all occasions.
