Request - Mack Stevens

Postby marko » Tue Jul 17, 2007 8:41 am

I'm searching for Mack Stevens' album "Bop, Rock, Rockabilly" released by Eagle Records (German label, I believe) in 1993.
I don't have a tracklisting or any other information of this rarity.

Also on search is ep "Malcolm Yelvington & Mack Stevens (FREEDONIA EP-102)" released by Mack's own Freedonia label on 1995, trackslist:
GAL NAMED JOE
THERE'S A LITTLE LIFE LEFT IN THIS OLD BOY YET
CRUISIN' WITH SUSAN
GOODBYE MARIE

Thanks in advance!

Hard to find that one as you noticed. I have some Mack Stevens albums on the Rollin' Rock label but the one you're looking for, is from the time before. To be honest I don't like Mack Stevens that much. With the Rollin' Rock albums he had some good backing musicians but the guy is trying to hard to act like a rockabilly singer in stead of being a rockabillysinger, if you know what I mean... :D

Yes, I know exactly what you mean, I do like some of the stuff he has made, although not all. It's just because I've heard all of his other recordings, i'd like to hear the hard-to-find ones also, if you can understand what I'm trying to say.

I totally understand...I'm afraid I'm a collector too and therefore have a lot of stuff just to make the discography complete although I hardly listen to it =D

But that's also the fun, just to find these hard to get albums. I couldn't find the tracklist for this one either. Too bad, because it's possible the album is released by another recordcompany but under another title. That happened before.

Ok, some of his recordings are good. Like I mentioned before: Mack was backed up at Rollin' Rock by the guys from Dragstrip 77. A great band. Sadly they broke up.
