Suggest me songs for my wedding

Postby stormbringer » Sun Dec 14, 2008 6:03 am

Hi everyone!
Next year my fiancée and I are getting married and we love swing music. We love to listen to it and to dance to it.
We are creating a set list of songs we want to play in the party after the wedding. That's why I need your help suggesting me songs to include in this tracklist. Love songs, happy songs, slow ones and fast ones too... whatever if they are great songs!!
Thank you very much for your help!!

"Moonlight Serenade" springs to mind as a perfect late-night slow dance. And for the fast songs... well, depends how keen you are on acrobatic dancineg. =D

Thanks for your answer!
We want to dance something slow as the typical dance between the bride and the gloom, we'll check it out Moonlight Serenade. Do you recommend us any particular artist doing this song?
And regarding the fast ones, they are for the rest of the party, so if they are fast doesn't matter. We want to create a mix with Rock 'N' Roll, Jump Blues, Balboa, Lindy Hop and any other Swing related music.
We are working on it...

In no particular order.

The way You Look Tonight - The Lucky Strikes (A Perfect Evening)
Yes My Darling Daughter - Eddie Reed (Hollywood Jump)
Yours All Yours - Alex Pangman (Can't Stop Me From Dreaming)
Watcha Gonna Do About It - Badabibg Badaboom (Vol II)
I Know I've Loved You Before - Big Sandy (Turntable Matinee)
Fly Me To The Moon - Big Time Operator (High Altitude Swing)
The Things We Did Last Summer - Bill Elliott (Swing Fever)
Sleepwalk - Brian Setzer (The Dirty Boogie)
Boozin' And A Cruzin' - Dem Brooklyn Bums (There Goes The Neighbourhood)
Twirl That Skirt - Dr. Zoot (Ragtop)
Violent Love - Flying Neutrinos (The Hotel Child)
How Lucky Can One Guy Be - Indigo Swing (All Aboard!)
The Dame That Knotted My Rope - Jet Set Six (Livin' It Up)
We Still Talk The Way That Lovers Do - Johnny Favorite (The Life Desire)
Big Fine Daddy - Lavay Smith (Everybody's Talking 'Bout Miss Thing)
Jumpin Jack - Lily Wilde (Insect Ball)
Polka Dots And Moonbeams - Lucky Strikes (A Perfect Evening)
(Getting Some) Fun Out Of Life - Madeleine Peyroux (Dreamland)
Look A There Ain't She Pretty - Red & THe Red Hots (Boogie Man)

Mostly slower, but there are never enough slow dances at weddings.

Wow!!
Thanks for your help! I know some of the songs you've mentioned Atouk and they are great. We'll try the other ones.
And I'm going to check Louis Prima Post because we always dance "Ain't Got Nobody" and we love it, so we better listen to more Louis Prima songs.
Thanks again to both of you!
