this concerns of course first of all the uploaders:

Due to (big) troubles in transfering files from sharebee and massmirror (since last Friday)
to rapidshare, megaupload, and badongo, please check
out that your upload is really working before you gonna post it.

Normally it a takes a few minutes and all files were transfered to
the other hosts.
My last upload took three days from sharebee to rapidshare,
and all other sharebee distributions aren't yet online

Rapidshare itself is (in my region) as slow as a snail - in up- and downloads,
so I loose each second attempt the line.
hope they can fix their problems finally and soon.

I am finding massmirror totally hopeless full stop. I don't even try to download from there anymore - also too many adds

Quite reliable for now is Xirror, besides they have an upload tool as simple as efficient. Not too common, nowadays. RS is very dependant on the carrier you choose for your download. For my part, Cogent is the worst, TeliaSonera and Level 3 the best choice. If you you are experienced enough in TCP/IP, send ping and trace route to see, which carrier you use to reach RS and use it for your first try. It isn't always the fastest, but a good start at least.

The problem with rapidshare is only temporary, and I really hope
they fix it, I never had problems with rapidshare the last months.
(Except of their big problem a short while ago).

About RapidShare (and of course megaupload/zshare); you can beat the time limitation if you have a dynamic ip [most people have], just turn off your modem for about 10 seconds [don’t turn off your computer] and plug it in again, this way you’ll get a new ip and rapidshare only looks at that, you can do this over and over again.

I think there are a few downloadservers where you have to wait
or to delete your cookies. (f.e. gulli)

But this is only important for those who want to download files...

There was a separate thread about that already, where I also shared some tips on how to use other unix systems you have access to as proxies. That way I can basically completely bypass the rapidshare limits by just cycling through the various hosts I can use as proxies. I'm usually downloading from rapidshare via two proxies at the same time; when one is completed I connect to the next proxy and start the next download.
Note that I'm not using "public proxies" or even hosts that have actual proxy software installed. The regular unix 'ssh' command has all the functionality you need; I don't install any software on the hosts I use as proxies. I just login and logout. Pretty much any unix host will do (at least when it's running OpenSSH, not sure about commercial ssh servers).
